John Masters Organics Lavender & Avocado Intensive Conditioner.

Now that Summer is over and I’m transitioning my hair from highlighted ( with bleach!) blonde to a more natural ash, my focus is on repairing my damaged hair. My go-to replenishing/repair treatment right now is John Masters Organics Lavender & Avocado Intensive Conditioner. The smell is dreamy and my hair absolutely loves it. Lavender and avocado oil leaves my hair smelling beautiful, it detangles, treats, and smooths my otherwise course, dry, damaged hair. Other organic ingredients include soy protein, white tea and arnica.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Volumizing Brow and Hair Powder.

I’m a huge fan of Tarte both personally and professionally. When I’m discussing favorite brands with a progressive focus on ethics, ingredients and formulations- Tarte always comes up. Tarte makes it easy to check their product ingredients and my vegan friends will be grateful to know that they can go to the Tarte website where you will find a page letting us all know what products within the brand are vegan. You might be surprised to know that Tarte has an actual vegan collection. These are Tarte products that are not just cruelty free, but are formulated vegan. This is one of them. Tarte Amazonian Clay Volumizing Brow and Hair Powder is part of Tarte’s vegan collection and has a super impressive selection of shades. If you desire thicker brows with dimension this powder will do the trick. Also, as the name implies- this powder can be used anywhere on the scalp to fill in any areas of thinning hair.
In selecting your shade for brows a good tip is to aim for a shade closest to or just a tad lighter than your own natural shade to keep it most natural in appearance.

Kevin Murphy Born Again Wash.

I’ve been using Kevin Murphy products both professionally and personally for years. However, it wasn’t until recently that I bought and tried their shampoo at a stylist’s suggestion. There is good reason why Kevin Murphy products are a staple in my professional hair kit and those of many other top Hair Artists- superior ingredients, cutting-edge technology and high performance on set. I do a lot of Men’s Grooming and my celebrity clients love Kevin Murphy. They truthfully look for it now on my set-up and eventually acquire the products for themselves. Celebrities need products they can trust in extreme environments and I never have to worry with Kevin Murphy. These days, I am asked a lot of questions about sulfate and paraben-free hair care. All Kevin Murphy products are sulfate and paraben-free. Born Again Wash is an intense moisture therapy shampoo, with an ultra rich formulation that protects color, and is excellent for super-dehydrated hair. Learn more here….

Warm temperatures in Los Angeles this week had me thinking about the beach….and Summer beauty. I love the look of “day at the beach” hair. A relaxing day of sun at the sea shore, a nice swim in the ocean and at the end of the day: the most perfect hair. What is it? It’s the salt water that creates those perfectly tousled, voluminous, naturally textured beachy waves that you love and there are a few outstanding products that can bring you that look at home. One of the most popular of the sea salt sprays is Ocean Mist from Swedish haircare line SachaJuan. This cult favorite product creates perfect beach hair whether you actually make it to the beach or not. Learn more here.
