New Year New You.

A new year is upon us. I truly love the start of a new year. Bringing in that vibrant new energy. The ultimate chance to renew and start fresh. Here are a few suggestions for things that you can do to inspire, renew and recharge your beauty “life” and beauty routine in the new year.

1) Winter skin can mean a lack of glow so I like to schedule a deep pore cleansing, exfoliating facial. Remove the dead layers of skin to reveal more youthful skin below. From there you can evaluate your other skin needs. Smooth, exfoliated skin is a vital first step in a perfect makeup application.

2) Get a body scrub. Find a spa near you that does body scrub- preferably a salt or sugar scrub. Once you feel how soft your skin is after you will be hooked. If you prefer to do it at home on yourself you can easily make your own- there are many recipes to explore online.

3) A new haircut. It’s a perfect time to trim away dead ends, try a new look and start fresh. If you color your hair, freshening it up gives your look and your mood a boost.

4) See the Dentist. Get your teeth cleaned and whitened. Whitening your teeth makes you look younger and vibrant. It will inspire you to smile more and people who smile appear more confident and beautiful. The power of a sincere smile is transformative.

5) Feel good about yourself. Just go there. Feel beautiful. On the inner. Regardless of the current state of the outside. Always. All of my suggestions above will result in feeling better about yourself energetically. Make the pledge to love yourself more. Practice self love. It’s the ultimate beauty secret.

San Francisco.

I took a drive north to my home town of San Francisco for some fresh air, to visit with friends, hold a few meetings, and indulge in a little gallery time.

The new De Young Museum.

Richard Diebenkorn at the De Young Museum. No photos allowed inside. I can tell you that I stood before one of my favorite pieces of all time “Coffee” from 1959.

Also at the De Young- another favorite- Mark Rothko, Untitled, 1949

I was able to visit the studio of Artist Jay Mercado to see a sneak preview of his “Pillow” series. I also got to see one of my favorite pieces from his beloved “Donut” series.

Mountain Ocean Coconut Skin Trip Soap.

Saturday, April 6th, 2013

This soap is one of my all time favorite products. Mountain Ocean has been creating their unique, eco conscious, all natural coconut line for 35 years. I can tell you that I have been using this soap since I was a child in San Francisco. It was my first coconut love and would inspire a life time love for the coconut and it’s scent. This soap has always been a health food store favorite. It comforts me that this classic is still around for me to enjoy and to introduce to people today. The delicate, fresh, clean, coconut scent of Mountain Ocean Coconut Skin Trip Soap is something you will never forget.

A few words about Spring.

Monday, April 1st, 2013

Ode to Spring. I love the shift in energy from dark to light. Winter to Spring. When the season changes and it is no longer pitch black at 5pm…when I can see the subtle shift in light and the days become longer….I instantly feel my energy lifting. I notice a lightness within me. I am super happy that Spring is here. I am a daughter of the sun. I am so excited about Summer but more happy about Spring in the NOW. Now is the time when the days are longer and the sun is bright but it is not too hot. There is even some really pleasant wind….The best weather to be outside in. Eating outdoors. Being outdoors. Welcome in Spring with me. Be grateful for the shift. The promise of light. Get out and live. Breathe in that air.
